Does anyone know of or better yet have any truly spineless & glochidless Opuntia's. I got one but it has now decided to produce 2" spines and plenty of glochides, nice fruit but a real tong job.

I know Luther Burbank developed a spinless Opuntia ficus indica X Opuntia ellisiana hybrid for cattle fodder at the start of the last century. I know it has been imported in australia way back when & i think it would make a great dry season fodder. The big question is, is it still here, is it still spinless or has it reverted? And if it is still around how can i get hold of a bit?

I've got a user friendly opuntia, that someone said was a glochid free cultivar of microdasys, called microdasys cv "Caress". It looks like it has glochids - particularly on the new growth, but I handle this one all the time and don't get hands full of annoying glochids.
