That "Astrobergia" looks awesome. Are you sure that plant is the result of a Principis and Astro cross ? Looks like it could be a mutation much like the "Lotusland" ? |

| yes, it is a Leuchtenbergia x Astrophytum. its Chinese. i don't know what astro species though, could even be A.ornatum? |

| The spines look very much Ornatum. How do you know its a cross ? Does it say it on the site ? I can't find it anywhere. |

| Trig the bloke (Paul) who posted this is the real deal. One of the best hybriders in the world, I think he even has a few species named after him. As you said they certainly look the real deal. |

| yeah, it seems some of the best cacti in the world are in Italy. Astrophytum asterias has also been crossed with Thelocactus setispinus with interesting results. it has remarkably astrophytum-like flowers. on the topic of inter-generic crosses, here is a Ferobergia x Echinocactus grusonii!!: http://thegardenforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=17564so leuchtenbergia x ferocactus, then resultant 'ferobergia' x E.grusonii. Incredible!

| hello I'm back, I was travelling and now I'm visiting againg this forum. I want to post some photos of and hybrid from hills near Yavi, Argentina. X Oreobivia (Oreocereus celsianus x Echinopsis (Lobivia) ferox)      Here is 1 parent: Oreocereus celsianus (left)  another parent, hidden, to the right next to the hybrid: Echinopsis (Lobivia) ferox    I hope that you enjoyed this set of photos, the landscape and all the amount of plants was so amazing! you must visit that place once in this life! many greetings from Southamerica! | hello yes it was a forrest of Oreocereus celsianus and O. trolli, also Neowerdermannia vorwerkii, Tunilla soherensii, Maihueniopsis (Puna) subterranea, Maihueniopsis glomerata, Cumulopuntia chichensis, Opuntia sulphurea?, Echinopsis ferox and probably more...  Juan |
