I have tried to make a strawberry-milk color cacti.
I crossed:
(1) Astrophytum myriostigma cv Onzuka x myriostigma v nudum cv red bean khoyo, kikkou
(2) Astrophytum myriostigam v nudum cv red bean khoyo, kikkou x myriostigma cv Onzuka
Sown seeds on 07/10/09
I grafted 4 seedlings (1) and 3 seedlings (2).
It seems seedlings (1) showing strawberry-milk color.

An interesting idea Hanazono, I have some very similar crosses to yours it will be interesting to see how they develop.

The current diameter is 3.5 cm. I think 1st flower will be next spring.

A great result so far Hanazono, how did the second (2) crossing turn out ?

The attached photo is one of second crossings, taken yeserday.
I selected 3 seedlings showing Onzuka chracter and grafted.
Since fathers' gene was too strong, the scion was a simple "Shima-iri Onzuka" as shown in the photo.
More than 50 seedlings germinated from same seeds patch have been remained. I will select several seedlings and will graft next spring.
