Found out that they grow 1 to 3 tubercles in their first year and saw pics of ones 7mths old that had the 2nd one. So here hoping by end of summer there will be more than one growing on these

They can go mouldy though!!! Those digi seeds look nice' n clean to me though, had some seeds go mouldy over winter. They must not have been cleaned properly. Still, all I did was soak them in a 10% solution of Hydrogen Peroxide and got some tro germinate atleast. One batch had 1% and another had about 20%, better than nothing I guess. Will get them in soon, been having shocking weather lately, not good for sowing, cold wind, lots of rain and generally bad weather for cacti Bloody weather!! Was really good there for a while. _________________ コレクタ

seed still loses viability with age too. (generally speaking) keeping them in plastic bags doesnt help either, they can't breath. Jordi can get own roots digis to flower in 18 months from germination... mine is older than that and has not yet done so. then again he is a legend of cactus cultivation to which we are mere mortals..

Yep better than nothing, something I always say to myself..lol Trig do you keep them in an airtight container with one of those things that soak up moisture. They come with new shoes and heaps of other stuff. Little packet that says do not eat. A lot of people do this and put them in the fridge over summer as it helps to stop the seed from ageing keeping them at a constant temp. I keep all my seed in a large tin and have stored some over summer in the fridge with no hassles. I heard the weather has been pretty shitty up your way and only 11C and rain today............hope it warms up for you soon. Here its going to be 37 sat and was going to be 40 sun but it has come down to 32 now. The heat mat is nearly empty now with this sort of weather happening. _________________ Betty

Yeah knowing me I will leave them too long to plant out and will start losing viability No, no, no!! I WILL get them in within 2 weeks definitely, that's my resolution Betty haha. Haven't been storing them with a silica gel satchet (actually I put one in with some of them a little while ago, came from a shoe box) as a general rule, but I try not to keep them for too long and try and buy up seeds in winter when it's nice and cold. If I don't get all my seeds in after 2 weeks I will buy a storage container and some silica gel, though I try not to keep them for more than a few months as a general rule. Makes room for next seasons seed stock _________________ コレクタ
