Warning system implemented

Just informing everyone that a warning system has been implemented. I really didn't want to have to do that, but I felt that I had to.

How it works: It's a 5 strikes = ban warning system. I think that's pretty fair. Of course strikes can be redeemed in lieu of behaviour. Ultimately I would prefer not to issue warnings at all, unfortunately I have already had to issue a member with a warning.

Strikes will be added if offensive posts are spotted and continue from members after the first offensive post is spotted. Also this will aply to discussion of cactus alkaloids. All members receiving strikes will be informed that have infact been issued a s strike and an explanation as to why the strike was issued.

The warnings and strikes can be found in the profile from now on.

Please free to discuss this issue as it effects all of us here at ACF.

I think a warning system is good - but five strikes???

I also think a one strike for serious misconduct is important to.

But please make sure that the rules imply what you can get strikes for.

Good work Trig for implimenting it.

I don't think that the strike system should really worry anyone, as long as they remember that people of any age can visit and read the content of this site.

Anyone whose intent is to promote cacti or learn about it would surely be fine, as long as they do that in an appropriate way.

I could imagine that all comments and posts that encourage and promote or are informative, about the preservation, propogation and collection of cacti and succulents would pass the general rule.

This system may eventually be removed, but for now it stays.

Basically posts on alkaloids are the main offenders, though other things include blatantly rude or arrogant posts. Demeaning or insulting posts are also not tolerated.
Racist remarks are forbidden. Also sexist remarks are looked upon with disdain.

The rules here are the same as with any other internet forum, though we have a few extra things to do with cactus alkaloids and the like.
