 Discocactus horstii

I have 12 grafted Discocactus horstii.
Although 4 plants were in flower in the night on 30/09/08, I missed the timing of crossing. I waked up too late on 01/10/08.

Only 12 grafted Hanz? Where is the Emotion symbol for envy :-(

Its a shame that you missed the flowering time, but what the heck - the plant in the photo looks great!

Well done for getting them to the flowering stage.

This alien smiley is green. Green with envy perhaps? Good work Hanaz, I haven't even bothered to try Discocactus yet, I think they might hate my cold extended winters. Best name of all cactus though I reckon.

I'm not all that keen on discocactus as a genera, but the ssp Horstii is simply an amazing plant. The flowers are too cool and it looks like a mix between a huge aztekium and some form of echiniopsis. One of my favourites. I have seedings but no larger plants....yet.

ya... extremely jealous. my seedlings died. even had an albino orange one germinate.. to bad i suck at peresk grafting. i've seen them on their own roots in Melbourne, so you should be fine where you are trig.
