Right bottom is heptacanthus v griseus, all others are horstii.
Discocactus are night-flowering, white color with a scent.

Darren
Discocactus are not self fertile and you need two plants at least to make seeds.
Stigma is also deep in flower and need a special process for pollination. I sowed seeds collected from these plannts and germinated quite well, around 100 seedlings.

I covered over my greenhouses by 70% shadecloth on 7th of this month.
I prepared for the current heatwave.

heptacanthus v griseus
Sown seeds on 31/08/06 and grafted seedlings.
Cut stock shorter and buried in soil this year
The character of grafted plant has still remained and opened many flowers together.
By unknown reason, other griseus were also opened flower in same naight.

G'day hanazono, I gotta say I'm envious of those who can grow these beautiful plants. I have been lucky enough to have several species for all od five minutes. Tassie winters are likely too tough on them!

Well done! and I wish I could catch the scent!
