Not sure if this is a very old Occulta, as its columnar and is very corky.

Either way its a 1st time bloomer, which im happy with it.

man.. thats an ancient plant. Nice flower Very Happy
i know next to nothing about Eriosyce but E.occulta appears to be generally short and spineless. :

although the spineless one we saw at the show was very tall. it also seems to come in spiny forms as well, and the flower is very similar to yours. so i guess it could be.

maybe something like this if its not occulta:

Generally it is spineless, but there is 2 forms, one with spines and one without. Plus all the one sin between.
The reason i say Occulta is from the flower, and sort of the white areoles.

I dont think it is that one Lewis, the way the spines are is heaps different.

old post...
but this plant look like Eriosyce heinrichiana...

Echinocactus occultus Philippi 1860 = probably its a mistake and the plant correspond to Eriosyce heinrichiana

Echinocactus occultus Schumann 1903 = Pyrrhocactus occultus Ritter 1959 = Eriosyce occulta Kattermann 1994
