| ...to put up some grafting teks, I'm looking at you shruman. Feel free to post a link to your grafting book teo. The other admin kyle has set up this cool thing for those who are using the @auscactiforum.net email accounts, a file sharing system, so those utilising the email accounts can access files uploaded publicly. I think the email and file sharing system is a great feature for our forum and I hope people are using their accounts. _________________ コレクタ |

| Look foward to it. If possible put as much information on the subject in as possible. I still can't get the hang of Pereskiopsis grafting. That file sharing thing I mentioned will only upload 500kb at one time, so that is a bit annoying, still, it could come in handy. _________________ コレクタ |

| Go ahead Kada. I have no problems with you doing some subtle (or not so) advertising _________________ コレクタ |

| I'm really keen to start grafting some of my stock, but have NO idea where to start. Has anyone got any suggestions on what seed I should try and buy as grafting stock?
Want to try on a couple of Astrophytums at first.
cheers, Calycium |

| | dont bother with seed. Get some pereskiopsis cuttings and some trichocereus pachanoi cuttings and do some mass propagation. I occasionally give away 3kg express post bags of peres when Ive got extra, but atm I aint got much. |

| Okay, thanks for that - not from seed - cool, do I just look on eBay, or is it not readily available from there?
is the size of peres an issue? I know that if I did it with a Trich I have it would be mamouth and I wouldn't see the grafted plant
No doubt I would cut chamfers (is that a word?) into the root stock and reduce the top flat section / graft? |

| I probably have some nice peres spare for trade calycium, will PM you. With peres you cut the stock completely flat (you don't get much area to work with), no need or room on the stock to "bevel" (spelling?) it. _________________ コレクタ |

| | I use about 20-30cm trich cuts for grafting, just replant the tip and cut down untill starts getting really woody core. |
