awsome, any chance you have any spare lithops for trade or seed? I'm very keen on lithops but have a hard time finding them in aust.

I know how you feel ...................... I have to get them through ebay or by mail. Don't know of anyone at the moment doing them by mail either.

I did email Collectors Corner once and they were prepared to send un-named ones, so you could try them for plants. Try contacting the Queensland C&SS they may be able to put you onto someone.

I have just traded all my seeds recently...........sorry Crying or Very sad

That is an impressive collection you have there Betty!! I know a few people (including myself) who would love to get their hands on them.

Hi Betty,
awesome collection - I have mostly Lithops seeds, but waiting for spring to sow them.

Do you grow them under cover - and what % of shade?

cheers,
Calycium

Its a shame they will be going dormant soon Rolling Eyes so no more water except for the ones still flowering.

I was lucky to go to Adelaide for the Succulenticon and manage to build up the lithops stocks a little. Not sure how many I have now but I think it would be 50 or more Embarassed

I really have too many cacti/succulents but .................... there are always more to find that I don't have Twisted Evil

Some addiction eh!!! drunken

Calycium I grow them and the conophytums under cover of the Verandah which has an iron roof and in summer they get full morning sun for a 4/5 hours. I did learn the hard way when I first started growing them though...............Oops I cooked them with too much afternoon sun Embarassed

With our heat here they do really well and seem to love it Very Happy

Good luck with the seeds, I don't know what I did wrong but I managed to kill them everytime No I will try again though Wink

I asked a lot of questions when at the Succulenticon and I think the problem may have been that they were getting sun on them so next time it will be shadecloth Smile

Found them easy to germinate though.

I picked up a few Lithops the weekend before Succulenticon, they had a sale on just before with lots of astrosand the Lithops were only $4-5 each. Got a nice optica rubra too.

I grow mine under the verandah, but just moved themm to 70% shadecloth - they are doing well too.

I'd love to get some of these cool plants someday. Are they easily pollinated or do you have to do it manually. How many seeds in each pod?

I get out the paint brush, do need a different plant though. I will cross them if I don't have another the same flowering.

Seeds per pod phewww hard to say as the seeds are sooo tiny. Probably get up to 200 depends on who the pollinator is Wink I don't tend to get quite that many lol
