A great collection you have there Mutant
healthy plants!
I have very few Stenocacti myself, but I think they are just awesome.
Nice ribs, spination and stripped flowers. Very cool indeed. It is a genus I would like to acquire more of in future. |

| mate they look fantastic... i am glad that i managed to save one seedling from the first ever seeds i sowed and it is this exact plant (I THINK)stenocactus multicostatus. I hope mine ends up looking as good s yours. well done!!! |

| multicostatus is supposed to have more than 70 up to 100+ thin ribs so it's pretty distictive.. I don't think there is one in my collection, no yet anyway?
I have read up abit for general stano ID, it's difficult but I have some idea...
The ones with the violet bigger flower have to be lamellosus
the one you mean might be what goes by like pentacanthus
they're supposed to hybridise with oneather so intemediate forms exist making id difficult |

| They're really nice mutant. I love the 8th photo where they are just opening, its a beautiful shot.I haven't grown many of these but I found mine to be very prone to mealy. |

I had 2 of them marked a bit by mites, but it was a bad year mite-wise for all greece this summer/automn....
otherwise I find them to be quite easy to grow and trouble free...
S. lamellosus grow faster than other small/stripped flowered ones... |
