| Hi HN. Being a bit of a Chilli Head myself, I would like to take you up on a pack of 15 seeds of each, thanks.
I've got Lithops seed to trade if you are interested plus some other stuff. PM me please.
Bhut Jolokia - these little baby's can blow your head off!! Read about them 10 years ago on a flight to Melbourne in an 'in-flight' magazine. It took 4 pages to tell you where they were bred and why...seems the Indians like the flavour but are very carefull to make sure they remove every last pod from the curry! |

| my chillis are starting to sprout! question: if i want to "save" non-hybrid seed, do i need to grow only one type of chilli ? how far away should different types be grown from each other? |

| Scarab, thanks for the kind words. I appreciate that.
Generally chillis are difficult to create hybrids, they will take the easy route and self pollinate nearly all the time. I have 10 plants spaced about 50cm between each and they have never produced a hybrid for me. Looking back 50cm is probably not enough, they are all touching now and look like one massive bush.
Congrats on getting germination, some can be difficult.

| These look awesome! I'm a bit of a chillihead... currently growing Habaneros, Hungarian Wax, Jalapeno and Thai Birdseye, plus an ornamental that is possibly a Numex Twilight.
I've never tried growing (or eating) the Jolokias before. Are they much more difficult to grow? |

| Lachy,
The only difference I have found with th Jolokia's is germination, they require a nice constant temperature of between 25-30degrees to germinate. Done right they come up in 7-10 days but can take up to 2 months.

Hello hellonasty,
Beautiful looking habanero's you've got there! Just wondering what you do with them? I've recently harvested a nice bunch of these really hot habanero's that are a almost a dark chocolate colour (I don't have pics however as I'm at work) and I've tried drying some with little success (tried drying in the sun and in the oven) They now seem to be turning a translucent colour and are looking pretty bad so what do you do to keep your habanero's? |

| I dry them in a food dehydrator or an oven on very very low heat and them blend/grind them up and make nice Habanero flakes. This way you have heaps of chilli for the winter months.

| HN, you mentioned an Australian native chilli in your first post. Do you have any pics? Can you give us any background on this plant? |
