I've noticed the same thing. How closely related are Mamms to Turbs?

Bit of an update with some recent activity..

Another Solisia, this seed from a different supplier and it looks slightly different. Also this younger, smaller plant is able to spread it's flowers amongst the spines a little easier...

And another. I'll have to keep an eye on this one as the flowers seem a bit mutated ? Might be only because it is it's first flowering though....

And now two that show the promise of things to come...The first Turbinicarpu alonsoi, about 4 years old and showing signs of buds and the second one has me quite chuffed, Toumeya papyracantha, almost 3 years from seed and on it's own roots.

So what happening in you greenhouse/collection at the moment ??

Really nice Nava, some beautiful plants and flowers there. I should have some time in the garden tomorrow and will take some shots if possible. I saw some nice Loph flowers today and Turbs too Smile

Been finally getting the start of a bit of colour here last few days. A bit later than others but I don't mind the wait(means a longer break).
The first is always the earliest to flower for me. Turbinicarpus pulcherrimus. Can't find out much about this one but it has a stunning flower like silk. Its a favorite of mine.

Here is another. It's a succulent but I thought it worthy of the cactus forum. Plieospilos c.v. "rubra"

Nice Turb Crypto. I'm growing pulcherrimus as well, but mine has a deep purple flower. Don't think it's considered a valid species these days though - thought to be a natural hybrid between psuedopectinatus and schmiedickeanus/klinkerianus. Seems my plants lean more towards the psuedopectinata while yours towards the schmiedickeanus going by the flowers. What's the spination like on yours ???
