PostSubject: Looking for Lophophora... ?   Fri Aug 27, 2010 11:47 am

Hi all,
My father has been a cacti collector most of his life, although raising two children got in the way for about 20 years. He is now getting his collection back underway and has been talking non-stop about getting a Lophophora (button cactus) for his collection. I think he found some recently at a society meet, but i would like to try and beat him to the purchase and get him something for Fathers Day. If anyone knows where I might be able to purchase one, please let me know? I don't want to buy him seeds, just the plant.
Many thanks,
Renae

If your father is in Qld, i would not recommend advertising your quest as all Lophophora are illegal in that state.
...absurd i know.

I wasn't aware of that, but that is absurd. Thanks for your quick response Smile So let's say my father is looking for a lophophora for his father, who's in NSW. He also collects cacti Smile

Your father may well have success with his quest if he attends a local cactus and succulent society meeting, or perhaps a specialist nursery or private cactus grower, in his state where they are legal. Wink

edit: locals may advise on specific sources.
