I'm guessing it's an unintentional chimera, maybe a graft gone weird. Then again, would it be possible to induce the formation of a chimera like this?

Dunno, I find this one very strange as the other chimeras I've seen usually have the traits of both genera melded into one whereas this seems to have the traits of either genus limited to "areas"....very odd...
