Today I had a couple of Trichos in flower at the same time Smile I crossed them each way and now fingers crossed Smile After the last shot was taken the second flower opened up on the bigger one and I pollinated it too.

Beauty! Any special techniques to get them to flower? My largest Tricho is nearing the 2m mark and hasn't flowered yet... i wish it would.

Beautiful! My globular echinopsis are in full bloom at the moment, but I haven't seen a single bud on any of my trichs yet this season...

blowng, no real tricks the only thing I do personally is not move the plant once it becomes dormant in the colder months leading up to the flowering season. I try and keep the plant in a constant position as I believe the arch of the sun (it gets higher in summer) is what helps trigger flowering.

Lachy, I had a nice Tricho Echinopsis hybrid that I missed whilst I was overseas. I was really keen to find out the flower colour. Fingers crossed for your trichos.

P.s I have heard many people say tichos flower more readily in the ground and I too believe this is true, both the plants above are in pots Smile

mutant,
The first plant pictured is Pachanoi "Omar" and the second is a is a Peruvianus, it does not have a name or person I can trace it back to but It was sourced from western NSW.

The fruits are developing nicely and should be ready in a couple of weeks
