| They are all different but to give you an idea the first one is from this season grafted in december 2010. The third one the "Onzuka" was grafted in March 2009, and degrafted at the beginning of this season. _________________ My Cacti Blog, please come visit me.

| Yes Hakuun is the name given for any with that splotchy white markings I can't remember the meaning, something about clouds or the sky I think. Hanazono will probably know.
How about a few more ? why not.

| G'morning Hellonasty
Hakuun means white clouds. I think 4-ribs Shimairi Onzuka is very good. Khoyo starts turning color but seasons of best color will be winter and spring.

| Thanks Hanazono,
I was wondering what season was best for colour, they just change colour randomly sometimes.

| You have some truly amazing plants there HN. I'm especially fond of the 4 rib ones. Are they from seed which is supposed to produce 4 rib plants, or is it just luck? Where do you get your seed from? |

| HN Khoyo will be the best color in winter and spring. We keep cactus under a micro-climate and a khoyo will start to change the color anytime when it thinks antumn is comming. khoyo needs 4 seasons, natural or simulated.
Carlo and Daniele Shimairi means "with striped pattern". You can see brown stripes starting to appear on the top of Onzuka. Compared to a normal Onzuka, the word of Shimairi is added if the plant had striped pattern.
