| Hello, i'm new to cacti but would love some advice on what types people reccomend. I love the flowering, barrel and cacti with 'arms' any help is appreciated! |

Hi BREE, Important to understand the growing conditions for the diverse range of cacti before you spend to much cash. Perhaps you can make a list of Genera you like and get some more specific advise. Great group of plants to grow and sure you will have a ball. Cheers Jeff |

| Cereus or some of the brazilian Pilosocereus should do well perhaps even Neobuxbaumia in a well drained spot. |

| I agree shortly... if i could, id get right into the Brazillian columnars they are exquisite but do not do well in my climate with ease... Austrocephalocereus dybowskii perhaps |

| Cephalocereus/Backbergia militaris would have to be the ultimate for wow factor.
Yeah i doubt Piloso's would take wet feet in winter or prolonged cold very well. And i imagine frost would see them go the the great garden in the sky rather quickly.
But isn't that what glasshouses are for? |
