Amazing cacti Hana, there's so much detail in these little cacti. I often like them so much more then the giant cacti because of this.

Jermilae is 13 cm diameter.
Hintonii is 10 cm diameter.

Hintonii is a small plant but the photo one has grown to a large size because of grafted.
I have quite many seedlings, sown seed in 2006. They have grown very solwly and been very small.

Since one each plant only was in flower today. I have preserved pollen for the pollination in future.

Another Ariocarpus, fissuratus f Big Bend was in flower yesterday.
I bought seeds and sowed on 31/10/2003.
Young seedlings were grafted on Hylocereus stocks just after germination.
This cactus was degrafted 2007.
Since it was difficult a normal degrafting for fissuratus, I degrafted with a short vascular bandle of the Hylocereus.
I believe this one relies on own roots currently.

Thanks all.

Many Ariocarpus have started to flower but same species may not be in flower on same day. I have preserved pollen for the pollination.

I sowed Ariocarpus seeds firstly in 2003.
This retusus is one of them.
I grafted young seedlings on Hylocereus and degrafted later.
This 19 cm diameter retusus was in flower yesterday.
One of grafted retusus will be in flower today and I will do pollination with it.

Hi Hanazono,

is the A. retusus pictured above on it's own roots now? Or is it still grafted? It's very impressive, either way.

G'afternoon trigonus II

The Ariocarpus retusus on the photo is an own-rooted plant.
I degrafted and rooted.

Can I ask at what age you degrafted it? Looks very healthy indeed. Quite large too!
