Ariocarpus retusus v major cv mitsuibo(tri-fingers) was in flower yesterday.
I sowed seeds on 11/08/2005 and grafted young seedlings just after germination.
Unfortunately I have not seen the character of the tri-fingers yet. I may not be able to see never.

I think more asterias will be in flower in this afternoon.
I could see many flowering buds in this morning.
4 grafted Discocactus horstii were in flower in this morning. Scent of flowers was very nice.

I took the photo in this morning.
This is one of K Sato dainow kabutos. I do not know the reason but it has grown very quickly. The current diameter is around 18 cm and I assume growing more. This one is own-rooted and 9 years old.
Almost all current kabutos are dwarf size because there was so many crossing in history. I will use this one as a father plant and try to regain the size.

Interesting flower on this last one. Looks to be quite small with not too much red down in the throat.

Really nice flecks and rib formation too. Those Japanese CVs are very attractive indeed.

More asterias were in flower.
The flower size of asterias in autumn is smaller.

Ariocarpus flowering has been returned.

I collected seeds from my plants and sowed on 30/09/2006.
It took 5 and a half years from seed to flower.

Just 2 plants have been remained.
One is this grafted plant and the other is degrafted one.
