Hi all

I have had this plant for nearly 3 years. However today I decided to repot my astrophytums and found this:

If anyone knows what that orange stuff is and how to rid the plant of it or anything else, it would be much appreciated

I am no expert, but I have that on the bottom of my Lopho Williamsii. v. Huizache and I was told it was from over watering (?). I then just watered it less so to speak...
I doubt I am on the ball but hey.. My as well try.

Well, Kanda

You could be right, I don't know though, but the plant has no taproot and is watered nearly every 2-3 days. Ill just water occasionally and see how things turn out in the next month.

I received mine with almost no roots, so I beleive I did over water, over time it changed colour where it was orange and firmed up and has grown some since then.
how does it feel when you poke it? Mine was soft.. Also I had mine in the wrong soil composition.....

Kanda, I poked the orange part while repotting and it was hard, not mush or anything, it felt like the texture of a swollen asterias. The plant is actively growing and will produce some buds soon.

i'm not too sure as Astro's are not my specific area.
I am sure someone else here would have a greater idea.
