I don't want to get my hopes up so I dare not say the C word. But what do you think is going on here?

This little fella is around 10 years old and has had stunted growth its whole life. 2 years ago it suffered significant damage. I still don't know what caused it.

Also my profile picture turned twenty today. She celebrated with a fruiting demonstration.

I think the pattern on the top loph is scars of red spider's attacks.
Since the scars will not recover, you have to wait until they move to lower parts of the plant.

Sorry but it looks like normal growth to me but you just never know. That slightly distorted growth in the middle is usually caused by an external object IE rock or the edge of the pot blocking the regular growth path and causing a minor distortion.

Interesting point HN. I didn't know that would cause odd growth. Well I guess I just have to keep an I on it for now.

Yep keen a eye on it. Also just to clarify Hanazono said "red spider's" but he is referring to spider mite not actual red spiders, there has been some confusion on this. The very small red spiders that are red, translucent and about 1-2mm in size are harmless. Spider Mites are much much smaller and cause significant damage. I pretty sure sneaky knows this already, just clarifying for everyone else.
