I just order the seeds and have never thought about wether I need one. Have had no trouble when they have been checked by quarantine.

It is my understanding that you will only need CITES papers if the seed is actually collected from the wild in Mexico, USA, Bolivia, etc. I may be wrong, but am pretty sure that's how it works.

It's one certificate per lot of seeds I think? Pretty sure Kohres charges $22, if that's euros, that's around $45 I think? Pretty exxy. Mesa Gardens charge $12 I think?

I have never required a CITES certificate, so I am no expert. I have, however purchased seeds internationally.

trig nailed it perfectly - IF the seed is grown from Mexico and the like - another words it is NOT grown by a collecter - but collected from the wild (and rare) it will require a CITES certificate to import. Order from Europe, I say - do away with the trauma. Although, they might get seed through CITES themselves, and you pay for the loading costs on the seed, hence sometimes a bit dearer.

for seeds, cites is not needed for App. 2 species, except Mexican sp, only App. 1.

undatus do not need paperwork....ironically technically the species used for grafting above need paperwork on their own, but not when grafted...whack. that is, if i read their info right.

from the plants and parts i have sent to AUS it seems to matter far more you follow the australian quarantine procedures and whatever else there is than cites.
