Yes they are quite a pain. It's a pity Pereskiopsis rarely flowers in cultivation, and is propagated vegetatively, for it might be possible to selectively breed specimens with fewer and fewer glochids... and ultimately breed them out for good!

i take it the glochids are the little spines that get stuck in your fingers? if so, by the time i pulled the bottom few leaves off the first one, i had about 10 stuck in my fingers. but then i put some disposable gloves on, and didn't get one stuck in me after that.

i think they look awesome, i never did think they looked good from the pictures, but then when i got them, and put them in soil, they just look so prehistoric. i love it.

and lewis, they are not on a heat mat or in a propigator, as my seedlings are hogging them. but they are in the same cupboard as the heat mat and flouro light, so they are getting a bit of warmth. i need to build a bigger propigator for them, i am only using one of those little plastic ones from bunnings for the seedlings.

anyway the temp in the wardrobe is about 20c at the moment, and is usually between that and 17c.

nice pitcher plant, and venus flytraps...

Damn glochids. You can spend ages pulling the little b%^tards out, and then a few hours later feel that twinge of pain again... grumble grumble... the lament of the grafter...
