PostSubject: When to stop watering   Tue Apr 08, 2008 9:11 pm

I realise that this is a hard one to answer becaiuse it depends on local weather conditions, rainfall, temp and cacti species you grow, etc. I have all my plants in a greenhouse, so they don't get water, and in adelaisde at the moment, although its getting cold my greenhouse is still peaking at around 35 degrees during the day.

When should I stop watering my 5-10mm seedlings? Mostly Astro's, Arios, Melos and Mamms.

Daylight is reduced to 4 - 6 hours of direct filtered light?

Day time temps dropping to around 15 - 18 degrees Celcius?

Water them through their first winter? (Not my Lithops or Conophytums)

I don't have a problem with the big ones I have - just the first year I have grown some exotics that I want to pamper so they do well.

Any comments appreciated.
