I recently went to check on an garden of mine to have a look at new spring growth and do a little weeding. I found that my dear old dad had done the weeding for me, in his usual style, that being grab the nearest spray gun and herbicide and go for it. I had told him and told him to use roundup if he had to use anything and spray low blah blah blah, he knew, he is a farmer and well, he knows. He tells me he was clean out of roundup but had this other stuff that was kind of like roundup so he went ahead and used that. OH MY FREAKIN GOD.










He said he tried not get any overspray on them at all and it was a calm day and all that so the stuff he used must be some hardcore stuff. Its called sprayseed, avoid it at all costs. AVOIDDDDD. He was only trying to help so there was no point going off my head at him, im just glad to have some ground to put them in.

About 40 cuttings copped it fairly bad and there is doubt some of them will pull through while in the larger garden a few large columns have signs of rot at the base and some horizontal logs copped a flogging. Luckily it doesnt affect roots so that is one good thing and if the weather stays nice and sunny that may help dry them a bit and stop rot spreading, either way it has put a massive dent in growth this season.

You can't just go in and buy this stuff.............I know your Dad was only helping out but.......

They use here in vineyards and if suckers have been cut off at ground level you can't use this stuff as it can kill the grapevine if it gets on the unhealed cut. It's lethal

I was wondering, if the rot is spreading, if maybe you could cut it out and dress it with something like sulphur? Or maybe if that wouldn't work, cut out the healthy bits and strike them.

Crikey, I think some look beyond going to the emergency department. Maybe buy ya Dad some roundup for xmas. And the Ebay idea is truly evil becoz some poor person would actually buy em lol. Hope some of em pull thru 4 ya.
