I like strong spined Gymnocalycium but it is hard to get a good plant in here. Spegazzinniis all I have were germainated from seeds.

spegazzinni v ornatum

spegazzinni v cardenasianum

spegazzinni v cardenasianum f super spines

spegazzinni v armatum f nova
I have several other spegazzinnni varieties. All spegazzinii are difficult to open flowers because of strong spines.
I also collect other Gymnos.

Are these grafted or own roots Hanaz? I really like the spegazzinii group of Gymnos. One of my favourite species (and the fmas. cvs. & ssp.) Seem to be very hard to get here in Aus. I did pick up a small cardenasianum a while ago and I know lewis also has one too. How old are they? Very nice plants TFS.

Theyre awsome looking spines Han, you have some of the best plants. Do you create your own CV's?

All of these plants have own root currently.
I grafted seedlings and degrfted later. Plants are 4~5 years old.

I do not create any Gimno cv. I bought all seeds of attached photo from a seed supplier in VIC.

They're impressive looking plants! You certainly seem to know what you're doing with this sort of thing.

I was wondering, how old were they when you grafted them?

Charlie
I grafted these seedlings, 40 days after germination.
You can start to garft seedlings 5 days after germination but Gymno's seedlings are too small.
The grafting succsess ratio of 40 days old seedling is the best.
