| One of my favourite grafts has split and I mean literally in half !! So much so the vascular tissue is exposed So not happy. Looks like todays hot dry windy weather and a little too much water caused it. It was grafted to Myrtillo Geo, I thought It looked pretty turgid and fat but didn't think it would split like that. I really liked this plant....What a shame it looks terminal. That will teach me to force growth too early in spring I will post a pic tomorow. |

| sorry to hear it HN mate. it wouldn't have split here.. only got to 21C i don't have one but i did have the opportunity recently to buy a small own roots one for $6.. perhaps i should have taken that opportunity! apparently they have somewhat of a reputation for this splitting behaviour, even more so if grafted. i guess they just aren't designed for fast growth...the same could be said for a lot of miniatures i think. |

| Yeah it got real warm round our way HN too. My cacti loved it, though the Brugmansias drooped all day in the shade |

| By the looks of things Cintia have very soft and thin skin much like lophophora. Too bad I guess, I have some small sedlings I will graft so not all is lost.
Still it sucks.
I would have jumped on that plant lewis !! I think Cintia are wonderful and still very rare. |

| very shitty happens though..... but you may still have a plant that lives. splitting in half is oogly as &*(& but they often make it through and pup form there in 5 years you may not even be able to notice it cause you have a nice bouquet hope it pulls through |

| Ahh damn, sorry to hear about this HN.
This comes from Cactus Art.
Cultivation: On a graft the plants are easier to grow, but the body splits if over-watered (especially in spring). |

I hope so. If you look from the other side it looks perfectly normal.

| I have not touched it. I think it split so wide due to the dry heat and wind yesterday. |

| I got one of these little buggers, and I almost watered it once which caused it to split... it has survived so far, but I only think about watering it now. This was before it split... CP |
