I came home sunday to find i had some new aquisitions, some good ones




Some Tricho species, must have been a very old plant.


Ok, so i have to wait for it to heal over, then pot it for rooting, but it has these brown spots on the bottom, like rot. They feel the same as all around the base, but just look like rot. I pressed in the area on the top spot, and it wasnt soft or squishy, just the same as everywhere else :S Any ideas. Also, once i pot it up for rooting, how long do you think before it starts shooting them up? Im guessing 6 months.. Apparantly the person it came from, said to just pot it in sand, yes/no?

for the rot, keep them out of soil and dry and they will be just fine doesn't look like its bad at all, just probably due to transit and not fully healed.

Like Kada said, wait until there is a nice thick callous before you pot it.
She would be a beautiful plant in 10 years if she were to be planted in the ground.

Yeh, they will both be going in the ground, the Ball 1st, then in months when the Tricho has roots it will follow.
I was thinking Spach, but i have no idea with columnars, nor any form of cacti.
