Ok so since we built the shed and shellter thing, theres been a gum tree thing we planted ages before it growing there. Today we were looking at it and decided were gonna dig it out on the weekend, not really paying attention untill i notice the majority of it is white. I freaked out because this thing is right next to me cacti. Like billions of tiny little eggs of something, but then i noticed it. Huge mealy bugs, maybe 4 times the size of the mealys i had on my cacti, and i noticed the mealy bug egg's. 2 different insects, but the mealys, if theyre on the gum tree, are they the same ones to my cacti ones and would they be attacking my cacti aswell??? I killed the big mealys i could see, then stupid me thought about getting a photo and couldnt see any.
Aargh i thought i got through the mealys, now im gonna freak out that ive still got them.

The photos only show the other insect, but im more concerned about the mealys, dont care about the tree.
Shotty photography, i know :S

Don't stress too much. Mealys aren't that bad as long as they have not reached the root of your cacti. Just spray the entire area with confidor concentrate. Wait 7 days and spray again. Shoudl fix the mealys. If they are in the roots its a little bit more complex.

Its hard to see what the other bug is from that photo ??? Posso scale ?
