Wow that's gorgeous! Smile
i love it.

I googled 'blue dot butterfly' and it came up with:

http://calamvalecreek.awardspace.com/belinda.html

Blue tiger butterfly, Tirumala hamata Smile

apparently their' caterpillars food plant are a few vining milkweeds, so its not going to lay its eggs on your cacti.

Thanks Lewis. Good to know it's not a cactus muncher :-)
Plenty of weeds in my garden at the moment. Lots of butterfly food.

I'm also finding the weeds to be a great snail attractant too... I swear the buggers are coming from miles around to feast on my garden.

Escargot anyone...? Twisted Evil
