| here are a few of the seemingly endless projects that i have growing. some are more common, others i am tying to breed out myself. PS. all the plants i grow are formed through selective breeding, i don't use chemicals/hormones to induce mutations Lophophora diffusa Lophophora diffusa cv. Enlarged Tubercle (Big breast diffusa locally) F2

F4

Lophophora fricii pups with no areole (from vascular ring) Lophophora fricii CV. Enlarged tubercles (pretty lame cv name eh?) F2 F3 Lophophora fricii. new cv i am working on......hoping to have a cv simialr to the ariocapus "cauliflour" in time. this has been under works for a while, these are the first pics i have posted. Lophophora koehresii X Lophophora fricii F1 plants. Their first typhoon Lophophora williamsii areoles are over rated anyway. 'Pentagona' Lophophora williamsii var. cristatevery wide line, this one is 10cm wide. this is my only habitat plant. 20x15cm own root. this is like the "normal" skinny type crests you generally see. Lophophora williamsii var. caespitosa Lophophora williamsii var. variegata Unknown Lophophora plants no idea what to call these.... these were sold to me as L. fricii....i bought htem cause of their unusual flowers. one plant has nromal size, the other (every time) has flowers 15mm or smaller...sometimes only 8mm! also quite strange colour. the normal pink of L. fricii but also a pure white to go with it, something i have not seen in lophophora friii before. Small flower plant small flower plant next to regular L. williamsii larger flower plant God knows what this weirdo is. it was one of 5 original plants originating in japan, all shipped here. i got one, 4 to another.....its seed grown so still a couple years from flowering....should know better then. I added an image stamp to these because i have had some problems with people using my pictures to sell their plants in the past (solved now).....but i don't want to go through that again, especially with some of the newer cv's being done (thats the reason i don't post most of my projects )....if anyone wants to use my pics, or request better quality ones, just email me more pics later on |

| Some great work your doing there Kada. It sucks when people steal your pics especially for dodgy selling purposes.
I really like that fricii F3 and I think your attempt at the fricii cv is coming along nicely.

| I'm gob-smacked Kada. You're doing great work in this genus that deserves major credit.
This is the kind of work people in Australia can aspire to.
Well done. |

| thanks guys i don't mind people using my pics, so long as they ask first and its not for selling their own plants ( it just seems WEIRD people would do that....???) any way, i often give out pics for people to use if its legitimate use there is no reason Ausies cannot.... the "cauliflower" fricii form i am trying to make all started from seeds i sowed and have since bred a few times with certain plants.....in time it all falls together....one thing i foudn with selective breeding ( i used to do it mostly with reptiles) is that if you actually stick it out and keep it up, good things turn up get some projects going, you guys have enough base genetics there i think to get some really cool things! F3 is one of my favourite plants as well. main head is 14cm. i just, last night, cut its babies off (all are 4-6cm) cause i want that main head to reach 20cm some day anyone else got any cool Loph projects going on? |

| can't wait to see "kikko" is not that freakish in lophs i think. it happens in the wild at least somewhat commonly in some locations, and many collectors and turtle shells of varying degrees......i think there is good material around to maek some real nice deep kikkos like you see in myriostigma.....hint hint get to it LAchy thanks The f3 fricii were both F2 parents. teh f2 plants were F1 pollen to Original mom. Can't wait to breed the F3 to F2, i got a couple that i like the pairing looks |

| Yeah I think it's fairly common, looks kinda cool tho. Would be interesting cross breed it.
I was thinking your F3 x F2 would be a very interesting result. |

| cortona...i find its more genetic than graft stock, but certainly clones on different stocks show varying degrees of "hair length" sometimes.....i am not sure if its the stock or something else. But i know selective breeding for this trait is fairly common, especially in diffusa and fricii. generally diffusa wool comes off easier and look more bald the further down you go, but not always. williamsii wool is attatched quite well and many plants have wool near the base still. HN, definately a nice cactus. I have had a few grafted to pereskiopsis like that that lost it when tehy were degrafted.....not sure if it was the stock or if they are like myrio kikkos that just sometimes dull out with size. i would put it in the line up though if it were my plant |
