That's an interesting and unusual plant. I dunno, but I think Copiapoas are starting to grow on me...

I agree with Juan in that it resembles more closely a C. hypogaea, though a lot of the C. hypogaea I have seen in cultivation in Australia seems to be a shorter spined form perhaps. I will post some pics of mine soon.
