Finally spring is coming here in Italy, very rainy days this week, but today is quite sunny!

Another asterias shinshowa in flower today.
Also the other seedling of the topic is in flower today, but there is very few pollen on both of them...

I think:
A very good flower of shinsyouwa-kabuto with short petals
The volum of the pollen is not too bad as a flower of shinsyouwa.

past year it flowered but the flower was smaller and not so nice, strange that plants make so different flowers.
The other showa plant of this topic (seedling) closed the flower without opening the pistil so we can't pollinate it.

The photo is my shinshowa-kabuto. This plant was in flower quite well as shown in the photo.
I am not sure why but it is failed to open flower offten last 2 years.

We noticed too that these plants often fail to open flowers. especially those on own roots. Here there are some other cultivars in flower today:

Astrophytum asterias cv hanazono
Astrophytum asterias cv red flower
Astrophytum asterias cv shinshowa flower
