Recently got my hands onto a pot of this. Does anyone have any experience growing this? Any opinions on whether it would grow well in my climate?

Grows like a weed pretty much anywhere Put in full sun and it will grow nice and thick, great for grafting. Likes lots of ferts in growing season and a large root space.

hey HN do you know what SP of Selenicereus it is that you use for grafting and sent me a few cuttings of? those are going quite well mate.

i also have S. hamatus. it grows so fast sometimes sends out aerial roots. haven't tried it for grafting, but the stem form is fully sick fow show its got like these teeth things:

KanJe, selenicereus are sort of like Hylocereus in that they are versatile and will grow just about anywhere. they are epiphytic and need heaps of water during the growing season. they grow fast, root easy as from cuttings and take up a bit of room but the flowers are epic.

I believe I sent you Grandiflorus lewis. I really like that one for grafting it has great vigor and is pretty strong [stems] when grown in full sun and reluctant to bend under scion weight. Selenicereus is a greatly variable species, I find the same species [even a clone of the same plant] can look very different in a different environment.
