I've had poor luck with a few melos... a few have fallen to the dreaded orange rot. That said, this was some time ago so I think I will give them another go at some point.

They say Melos are less hardy when they form the cephalium, that is, immature plants are may hardier... is this true, aajooo?

I got a nonamed mature one and I decided to go the safe way and avoid anywatering during the colder weather...

Do you think you could help id? I also have a much smaller one that is strangely pupping...

I said strangely as I have most melocacti in my mind being solitary.

so melocacti grow pretty fast for slow growers huh?? 3+years and they're quite biggy... I think my seedlings are matanzanus too, if I remember correctly, great looking cactus Smile
