| not on pereskiopsis i have grafted 2 Rebutia heliosa 'melanistic' offsets http://www.cactus-art.biz/schede/REBUTIA/Rebutia_heliosa/Rebutia_heliosa_melanistic/Rebutia_heliosa_melanistes_kk849.htm last summer and they took on Hylocereus and Myrtillocactus. hylocereus is crazy! grows soooo fast, provided its warm and it resulted in a distorted scion with heaps of offsets. i found it very easy to graft on. i was really clumsy one day and literally knocked the scion about a month after it took and was growing rampantly. so i just cut another thin layer off the scion and shoved it back on the hylo with no thought whatsoever and miraculously, it took again.
Myrtillo went much better, slower growth (still fast, almost anything is slow compared to hylo lol) and much more natural looking plant, with only a few offsets. also lasts longer as a permanent stock in cooler climates because its a bit more cold tolerant. |
