| My avatar on here is a flowering Astrophytum asterias fma. nudum that I purchased from the same seller quite a while ago now. A good seller, hope someone here won it, it was a nice specimen. _________________ mmm spikey... |

| Thinks it's the regular one. The one I have is definitely Astrophytum asterias fma. nudum. I am suspicios that you might have a few different forms of this one over in Taiwan. The pics I have seen of your plant/s seems to have a more dull epidermis whereas these Aussie ones seem to all have a very shiny, dark green epidermis. Not sure? I know the seller sells a fair few other astro hybrids. I picked up one last night _________________ mmm spikey... |

| Yeah there seems to be Arios regularly lately and Astros too. I bet there will be lull soon and then there will be heaps again. Seems to happen in waves. Strangely enough winter seems to be a good time to look for rare cacti on ebay. _________________ mmm spikey... |

| yes there are lots of different kinds! they are often lighter colour and such here cause they get full sun year round. my plants were 5 times darker in canada as they are here. i think its mostly just lighting?
that one on ebay looks like a hybrid to me cause of the raised ridge on the ribs. hybrids like that are very common, more so than "pure" asterias around here. |

| Yeah could be a hybrid with a myriostigma or capricorne I guess. _________________ mmm spikey... |

| no way that's a hybrid.
I got one the exact same size from the exact same seller for $16... and the same day a 8.5cm super kabuto for $25. he rules. here are some my astros, featuring the above mentioned sk at the top left and the asterias nudum underneath. the other sk pictured is also from him. notice the 8 ribbed non hybrid A. myriostigma cv 'Multicostatum' on the bottom right
mates from another forum may recognise this pic. p.s how do i reduce pic size? |

| Lewis I am so jealous of your Astro collection. Where did you get your hands on not 1 but 2 A. Myriostigma cv 'Multicostatum'? Or don't you want to share your little secret? LOL
I have purchased 3 Astro's through the same ebay seller but sadly he has none for sale at the moment.
I have recently planted some A. Asterias super kabuto and I hope they (don't die first off ) turn out just as nice as yours. Sad that I have to wait 3-6 years to find out though.
If you ever feel like downsizing your collection I will always assist you by taking them off your hands.....anything to help out a friend |

| | I have allways liked the Myrio Hakuun cv. Did it produce any seed ? Considering the plants you have there and the fact Myrios are not self fertile you could produce some ineresting seed. |
